A Car for Every Worker, a Dream for Every Go-Getter
Determination and the hum of machinery.
Go-Getters, I still remember Henry Ford’s workshop, the air thick with determination and the hum of machinery. “Ol’ Mo,” he said, wipin’ the grease off his hands, “it ain’t just about makin’ cars—it’s about makin’ life better for everyone.”
Ford wasn’t just thinkin’ about profits; he was thinkin’ about people. He wanted his workers to afford the very cars they were buildin’. So, in 1914, he doubled wages to $5 a day—a move that shocked the business world but cemented his legacy.
I asked him, “Why take such a bold step?”
He grinned and said, “Happy workers build better machines, and better machines build a better world.”
Go-Getters, Ford’s story reminds us that big risks often lead to even bigger rewards.
