The Inventor Who Put Power into Progress
The Innovator Who Powered a Revolution
Hey Go-Getter,
Meet James Watt, the Scotsman who harnessed the power of steam to fuel industry. We’re in his workshop, where he’s explaining how his engine works.
“I reckon it’s more than just a machine, Ol' Mo,” he says, wiping sweat from his brow. “This engine here—it’s an opportunity for every man, woman, and child to create a better life.”
Watt didn’t just invent a machine; he created the engine for an entire economy. His steam engine made it possible for factories to produce goods faster and cheaper, giving rise to new industries and new business possibilities. Small towns became industrial hubs, and entrepreneurs jumped at the chance to capitalize on this new technology.
“Ol' Mo,” he adds with a twinkle in his eye, “with the right power, even the smallest spark can ignite the biggest dreams.”
Message from Ol' Mo:
"When you harness the power of innovation, you set yourself up for greatness. Small steps with big ideas can lead to monumental change."
Catch you next time,
Ol' Mo
